Research in early childhood education has indicated that dramatic play and play pretend are very important aspects of play in a child's development. It appeals to every child's sense of imagination and creativity. It opens up a whole new world for creative play, acting, role playing and interaction. It allows them the freedom to express themselves in their very own personal space and their world of make-believe. Such imaginative play stimulates the thinking of the child. This will in turn prepare them for more complex learning situations when they are older.
